SMC in collaboration with the ADR Club of the School of Law, SVKM’s NMIMS Chandigarh successfully organised a comprehensive two-day workshop on ADR from 27-28 January 2026.
The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Mohammad Umar, teacher of ADR at BITS Law School Mumbai and consultant with SMC. Participants were offered in-depth insights into arbitration and mediation through a thoughtful blend of conceptual discussions and hands-on practical sessions. Participants actively engaged in drafting exercises and mediation simulations, gaining valuable experiential learning and practical exposure to ADR mechanisms.
The sessions emphasised the increasing relevance of ADR in the modern justice delivery system, highlighting its effectiveness, flexibility, and efficiency as a viable alternative to traditional litigation. Overall, the workshop was both academically enriching and professionally insightful for all participants.
The initiative was envisioned by Prof.(Dr.) Rashmi Khorana Nagpal (Associate Dean, SoL) and coordinated by Prof. Tina Benny, Assistant Professor and Faculty Convenor, ADR Club, SoL, NMIMS Chandigarh.
